Oooh!!! Can I live in your world, too?? You know.. that world where everyone is basically good, so you can just make friends and live happily ever after?? Gosh.. in that world, psychopaths and sociopaths don't exist... nor does gang violence or tyranny... sexual predators don't kidnap kids from their neighborhoods and there's no need for prisons because we can just hug people "better," even those who've been deemed criminally insane!

Get real. There's no making friends with people who are unbalanced or mentally ill. There's not negotiating with people who have no idea what living in peace and freedom means... to them, it's all about manipulation and power.

You know what they say. Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer.
Life is just to short to have enemies anyway. My hat is off to you for being the better person here. It takes a real man to step up first. Besides, you never know, one of those new found friends could end up being a network connection that might help you make you dreams come true. The more friends you have the better.

You sure are, but what if they are just pretending to be your friend until you turn your back on them. Then it is that knife between the ribs thing and it is too late to be victorious.
I am sorry but this "be nice stuff" seldom works in the real world. Everyone operates from a position of weakness. They are either too weak to win an altercation or too weak to have the resolve to do so.
That is the problem with the US. Our population is not willing to win a war. War is like sausage, you may like the results but most people are better off not knowing how it is made.

Yes you are, but some enemies can not be turned into friends, no matter how much you try.

Yes if you are truly wanting to be friends. In some cases you no matter how hard you try to be friends they will not except your kindness. Instead they would rather fight or kill you instead.

I am a Catholic and I agree with you wholeheartedly,but do NOT try this logic while in the military. There is a time and place for doing things. In the military, you either kill, or be killed in combat.

Sometimes not, they can get more emboldened, think you are dumb & an easier target.
Yes, lets make friends of Al Qaeda, & the terrorists, etc, by giving them money & whatever. They may think, "oh, they are soo sweet & nice, let's stop our hateful agenda!" chirp chirp chirp

Yes, you are right.......but with that said....we will never make Friends with radical Islam........because they have said they want to kill or convert all infidels.I for one, will never be converted to a "religion" that treats women and children so horrible or the destruction of the world,just to rebuild it with radical Islam.
