It's odd...I'd never heard of this either til a year ago when
I developed the same thing. To explain what may be the cause; think of the retina as a wall...and the sac holding the fluid behind the eye, the wallapaper. A small section of that wallpaper has pulled away fom the wall letting flashes of light in. You should consult with an opthamologist to see how extensive this is. If it is very small like mine, they may do nothing. i undertand that if it is a large separation, they can do surgery. Good luck.

Do you have a history of migraine headaches?
This can happen with migraines.
Perhaps you're turning your head too fast.
