Model CE. The headlights drain too much power from the battery because we rarely use the car for long distance driving.

Follow this Toyota TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) to disable the DRLs (Daytime Running Lights.) Obviously, you wouldn't do this while driving.

It will also disable the Twilight Sentinel, which means you will have to turn the lights on manually in twilight conditions, rather than the lights being automatically controlled by a dashboard sensor.

you're able to flow away them on; they do no longer effect gas economic equipment in a significant way, they alert different motorists, and that they are particularly useful at dusk or in tunnels once you will possibly no longer think of to swap on the lights. each and each of a similar, this is one threat. i do no longer understand if it works this variety for the 'ninety 9 Corolla, yet different Toyota fashions can deactivate the sunlight hours working lights from the sunshine indicator stalk. customarily, the rotating knob on the top of the stalk has 3 positions (lights off, parking lights on, and headlights on), yet present day Toyotas have a 4-place swap, and you rotate it in the direction of you one extra notch, and that deactivates the DRLs. The groove on the stalk and knob won't align while that is throughout this place, yet it rather is the off place.

Your car probably has daytime running lights. My dad has a 2000 Toyota Sienna LE and it has that. Either way, you can't turn them off. I don't know how it would drain your battery while you're driving though. If you shut the car off, the lights should turn off as well so it shouldn't drain anything.

You can't on a 1998. It is probably true for a 1999.

The only way they can drain power is if your engine is not running and lights on,, you should keep them on for safety..
