Jesus Christ lived in this world just like you and me and had undergone many tortures for the sake of humanity and finally He was crucified for no fault committed by HIM. He was pure, compassionate towards all. He has not developed any hatred towards anybody even at the time of Crucifixion. He has lamented that 'they know not what they do, hence forgive them'. He lived human life but with utmost sacrifice. He had deep faith in the Father in Heaven. He performed miracles in the name of Father. He cured many, given vision to the blind, raised the dead to Life. Since these are all beyond the ken of human understanding He was called messiah. First He said that He is the servant of God. Second He said that He is the Son of God. Finally He asserted that He and His Father are ONE. These are the various stages in spirituality. He was One with God. History is replete with so many instances about His life. If you consider Him as God and worship Him for whatever He has done to humanity. He is remembered and worshiped after 2000 years by most. Then you can judge for yourself whether He is God.-Nagarajan.

Jesus was not God. He was a man who was a great teacher and far ahead of his time. According to the gnostic gospels Jesus spoke about enlightenment. Salvation was not even in the bible until over 400 years after Jesus died.

I cannot accept that God and Jesus are the same, it contradicts everything, and I have had trouble praying to Jesus, because while I believe he was a strong Prophet teaching us, I cannot believe that he is the one I have to talk to just to be close to my God.

I believe "Jesus was a political rebel with a cause". Unfortunately he was killed for his beliefs. That is why most people have this admiration with Jesus. Anybody who fought against the government was murdered. In fact he was murdered for his beliefs. There are alot of stories in the Bible which are surrounded with political themes of that day. I find it odd how the bible and theology is often used to win over a political argument.
