Well, I bought a pocket beagle 3 years ago, and those so called "health" problems DO NOT EXIST. She is perfectly fine. Yes she might have gotten bit by a scorpion, but that was her own fault.
Here is a picture of her if you don't believe me.

Sam and her Basset hound friend Chloe.
Some people who answer about pocket beagles don't even know what they are talking about. They DON'T own them so they would know. I don't know why someone would say something they don't even know about.

FYI- yes they do.
And that is only half of my basset hound.
If you bred show dogs I think you would know its basset hound not bassett. She WAS NOT bred by as basset! That is her friend! not sibling. As you could tell if you weren't totally brainless is that she doesn't look like a basset hound!
And for the first answerer you could probably google them. ☺

Is she registered through a reputable registry as a Pocket Beagle? They are not a true registrable breed, just like teacup whatever. You can register them as a beagle, but not as a pocket beagle. You can get an extra-small puppy in every breed every once in a while, and some have extra health problems and some do not. The key word with registries is reputable. AKC and CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) are the ONLY reputable registries, every other registry will register a dog as long as you say it is purebred (true or not).
Also, normal sized beagles are supposed to be less than 20lbs and bassets are supposed to be around 60lbs. I think that she just looks like a slightly smaller beagle next to a normal sized basset.

Ok, "Pocket Beagles" do not exist as a breed. At least not at this time. The word Pocket does suggest that it is small, probably bred for size to get a smaller dog and create a new market, like Teacup Maltese (a size distinction that is NOT a breed unto itself) These are not a breed just the same way as Morkies are NOT a breed but mixed breed that somebody gave a cute name to make it a designer dog they could get a huge price for. Now all breeds were developed from something else, and someday, maybe Pocket Beagles will be recognised, and Teacup Pomeranians and Schnoodles too, but for now they do not exist as recognised breeds and most dog enthusiasts will agree with me.
Of course, this does not mean your dog is not a great pet and I am glad she is healthy, often dogs that have been "bred down" are bred by people who have little reguard for any other characteristic than the size and there can be health risks. One or two healthy dogs does NOT mean that health problems do not exist. Every breed has it's own set of predispositions to health problems, so why wouldn't the so called Pocket Beagle? And does having one dog make you an expert on a breed or variety's health issues? especially a "breed" with so little documentation.

You didn't get the runt because they were all under-sized!
Show us in any registry where such a dog exists!
Years & years ago there used to be the OEPB (Olde English Pocket Beagle), but the chances of these undersized beagles being decendants to the dogs from England are slim. How long ago where they imported? How far back in the pedigree do the imports fall? Are you sure somewhere down the line a "standard" 13" or 15" beagle weren't bred with one of these so called PB?
BYB's and their "pocket beagles", mini beagles, "teacup whatevers"..............all bred from dogs that are BELOW STANDARD and should not have been bred in the first place.
I'm sorry, but there is no way that dog is going to fit in my pocket!!!

There is no such thing as a "pocket beagle."
That's why some people think they don't exist - cuz they don't.
What I mean is that there is no such breed. If you are trying to say that she is a "toy" beagle or some such thing - there is also no such breed. And if that is a normal size bassett hound that she is with - then why do you call her a "pocket" beagle anyway? She is a normal sized beagle. Unless you have REALLY REALLY big clothing - she is not going to fit into anyone's pocket - except maybe a gigantic kangaroo's.
If you paid a lot of money for her because someone tricked you into believing that there is such a thing as a "pocket" beagle - then you should have done more research.
PS - thanks for correcting my spelling of "Basset" hound. I really wasn't interested in the spelling - I think I got my point across. My point is: Basically, you got ripped off when you bought a "Pocket" Beagle. If you were so confident in your choice of fake breeds, then you probably would not have to call the people who answered your question "morons" or other insults. I am sorry you got ripped off - but you did. And I DO show dogs - I just don't really care how BASSET is spelled cuz this isn't my breed, I don't like them because they stink, and I could not care less about them. You have a normal sized Beagle - you just paid too much for it because someone tricked you into thinking it was something "rare" which is a made up breed to fool people into paying a lot of money to unscrupulous people who try to call themselves "breeders."

it really is not any longer that they don't exist it really is that they "shouldn't" exist. it really is a promoting device to get human beings to fall for a sickly runt, it really is not any diverse from those who promote "teacup" pomeranian's or yorkies. it really is a runt, a poorly bred runt that couldn't stay lengthy or have truly some wellbeing themes it really is entire life. human beings fall for the fashion because they pick tiny, i am going to admit i wanted a tiny canines and idea tea cup became in simple terms the size they were, notwithstanding, i did not purchase one, I now have a Weimaraner (a recommendations cry from tea cup). So at the same time as human beings say they dont' exist what they actually advise is there is not any such breed as a pocket beagle it really is not any longer recognized by any respected kennel club and it really is extra regularly than not a "promoting device" to dupe undesirable unsuspecting customers out of truly some money.

Because there is no such thing! Dont try and say there is, you may have been talked into buying a runt by someone, but that doesnt make it its own breed. Considering the average size of a normal bassett hound, comparitively speaking your beagle is average size, not even that small. Congrats that you havent run into health problems yet, but that doesnt mean they are not coming. Please educate yourself before you try telling other people they are wrong.

I could not tell by your picture the real size of your pet and there should have been some thing in the picture to compare it with. some thing that everyone can get a idea of the size. And no there is no pocket book beagles out there and you can not convince me other wise. You have got the runt. But do not get me wrong. runts are really cute. And your pet is cute. But there are breeders out there selling runt for pocketbook size or teacup size when in real fact they are selling runts.

Beagles come in two sizes over 13 inches to the whithers (shoulders) and under. She looks like a normal under 13 inch beagle to me. I don't know why you like the term "pocket" it sure would be some heck of a big pocket that would fit her. But she looks healthy cute and normal for a 13 inch (or less) beagle.

Of all of the issues facing the world today why is the issue of whether or not the majority of the population believes in the existence of pocket beagles so important to you?
Frankly, I've never heard of them but if you say they exist then I'll take your word for it. Vive a la pocket beagles!
By the way scorpions don't bite they sting with a barb in their tail.

What are they? Are they mini-beagles? I have a beagle-bassett hound mix and she's smaller than most beagles. Where can I find info about this?
