I need to paint my living room, bedroom, and probably the kitchen too, but I'm stumped! I'm terrible at cooridinating colors. I can show you pictures of the rooms if it would help. Someone point me in the right direction! Thanks!

Here are 2 links to websites you can look at and view different colors and color combinations. You can click on the room you want to view, choose the color and the color viewer will show that particular room with the color chosen. They also suggest complimentary colors to each other, it's lots of fun and you can also buy samples (small jars) of the chosen colors which will be delivered right to your door. Since colors always look different in each environment because of lighting differences, it's a great option. Pottery Barn has coupled up with Benjamine Moore Paint, so if you look at Pottery Barn catalogs, and on-line, these are Benjamine Moore colors and there will be a swatch of the color used at the bottom of the page with the name of that particular color.

I had this problem recently, but only with regards to the bedroom! I find that pink is always a mood lifter but i didn't want too much of a girly feel to my room, so i went for one wall in a pale pink and all the others in white. It works really well and warms the room up nicely! I'd just suggest that you choose colours you like and add accents to the room, whether it be only one wall in one shade or two walls in complimentary colours then with the rest white. It always has a pleasing effect. For the living room Id use perhaps a pale pink and mint green, or maybe have royal blue on one wall and the rest white. Then maybe for the kitchen one wall of bright blue perhaps? It's really upto you and remember the colours don't necessarily have to co-ordinate between rooms!

Go to the paint store and get swtaches of colors you are thinking of using. Most store will also help you choosing colors. Then put the swatches on your wall. During the day and night, look at the colors. THey look different depending on time of day and what kind of lighting you have.

I slept with 10 different swatches on my bedroom wall, for a few months. Decided none of them would work.

I painted my rooms last spring and found out there are dozens of shades of white.
Go to a paint store and look at swatches. Take them home and look at them in different light (daylight - lamp light). It makes a difference.
The white I favor is called Modest White by Sherwin Williams. It has a very light taupe cast to it. Very rich looking.Anything would go with it.

You want your living space to be comfortable and beautiful to you. I would recommend that you get some decorating magazines and begin tearing out pictures of rooms that you like. What you will see emerge are some patterns like colors, design styles, etc..

Follow your inner guide and best of luck.
