yea actually it does. if u want to do ur best to prevent this, buy an UV screen. this will block the UV rays from reaching ur eyes and may prevent ur eyesight from worsening as fast as it might w/o the UV screen.

Yes it can make it worse.
I started a job 7 months ago working on a computer all day, 5 days a week, just before starting work i had an eye-test: everything was fine, no problems, about a month ago i started noticing headaches so i went and requested another test.... BINGO i now need glasses for close work & computers, anti glare on the lens's the lot...
The good news is:
The boss paid half towards my glasses as i had proof my eyes had deterioated since starting the job...
Not everyones eyes will be effected this quick, but its a hell of a shock to me!
Be careful... I'm now seeking work where it isn't all computers...

Yes it does. I use a computer everyday at work, I've just had my eyes tested and now have an astigmatism in my left eye. Was told by the optician that it is due to the computer screen, brightness of it and it strains the eyes reading stuff on it.

Yes the computer makes your eyesight worse if you dont take a break because it can strain your eyes if you keep on looking at the screen blink more often and try to take a 10 minute break so your eyes dont strain.
Take care

Yes, it does affect your eyesight and vision, which is why it is essential to not use the computer daily for more than three hours non stop, and if you do take small rests in between to relax your eyes, and take a snellen test once in a while just to be on the safe side.

Prolonged computer use can strain your eyes. I've also heard that most people don't blink as often when they're looking at the computer monitor, so their eyes tend to get dry more quickly.
One thing that I read that works for me is to stop every few minutes or so and focus on a distant object for a few seconds, then go back to the computer monitor. It helps.

The problem is using your eyes formore than an hour at a time. Get up and take a break every hour at least. Do something like resting your eyes.
Don't read or do close-up work.
