I paintd my room light and dark pink to make it more teen but it turned out BARBIE. My mom won't let me live down my bad color selection and she keeps saying how my old colors were so nice. (she painted them) I don't even like the pink and wish it were my old colors. What can I do becuase I doubt She'll let me paint again. PLEASE help me...it's horrible

i can understand where you are both coming from, as i am a mom of a daughter who is now 23. i know she wants you to listen to her advice, and when you don't, she wants you to live with your decisions. i understand that you were testing your wings, but now realize maybe she does know what she is talking about.
if she absolutely stands by her decision not to let you repaint, maybe she will meet you half way, maybe she will let you sponge paint your old colors over the pink, i am thinking your old colors were a more neutral color? like a beige or off white? sponging is easy once you get the hang of it..practice on an old board or cardboard first. take some of the new color, and a regular old sponge, crumpled up, and dab the new color over the old. it should be all different looking, some light, some darker. if you get too much paint on the sponge, just blot some off. go lightly at first, then you can see how it looks, and if you want more of the new color, you can always go back over it to make it heavier..
or, if you dont want to paint again, or cant, see if she will go for getting some sheer fabric, in the old color, and just kind of drape it on the walls, tacking it up with staples or double sided tape. you dont have to do it on all of the walls, just two would probably soften up the barbie look
good luck..

p.s.....mom's usually know best, so next time, see what kind of comprimises the two of you can come to...

best of luck to you...
good luck..

I would just embrace it. Maybe buy new sheets that are light blue to wash out the pink on the walls. Or buy like blue frames and put them on the wall to compliment the room. You can also get like black rugs and make the room really unique.

offer to do chores and earn the money to buy new paint or sit down and be frank, say "Mom, I know I messed up but can I please earn the money to paint/wallpaper it again?" Good luck!
