Yes, anxiety and depression can make you feel as though you are going crazy, but you are not. I've been there and know what it's like. You need to see your doctor and get some advice. Maybe some antidepressants, and even some counselling. You can get free couselling from "Mind" if you are in Great Britain, don't know about anywhere else. No. in phone book. There are many antidepressants on the market for different kinds of depression, so you really need to see your doctor.
There is no longer a stigma about feeling this way as it is quite common.
Seek help and don't suffer any more.
Good luck.

Yes! I have anxiety very badly. So badly, that the medication they gave me, I won't take because I'm afraid to. And the thought of the side effects, gives me panic attacks. I get them out of no where and half the time I think I'm going insane. But I'm not. I recently read in a book, that sugar is actually a natural relaxer and not an energy booster. I read that when you are feeling anxious make yourself a quick cup of hot chocolate and sit down and drink it. Try to relax. It should help your body and mind calm down. It helps me when I do it. Although, I only tried it today, but it worked and I'm going to get a supply lol. So, it wouldn't hurt to try right? hope I helped a little. Good luck hun! P.S- Do not make the hot chocolate with milk, because I don't know what it has, but it actually dilutes the helping factor.

Yes it can...this coming from someone who has battled it for 20 + yrs. It can be debilitating if left untreated!! It is best to see your doctor if you want help. Some of the medications available today for treating it are far less difficult on your body in terms of side affects. It is not the cure all to end all by just taking a pill! You must be forthright with your doctor, family and friends about what is going on in your life to get the best results for the care that is required and; if at all possible a support group (online/ face to face) will be an extra bonus to getting the help you need

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.

Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

Read the book 'Panic Away' by Joe Barry. It helped me undertsand what anxiety was and why I was feeling like I was crazy! Ebay has it for cheap and you can download it straight to your comuter. Look it up!

yes. you have to work through it the best you can though. i take medication for it and it helps me a lot. i used to take wellbutrin and lexapro for it which works okay, but then it started to come back. now im on cymbalta. i also go to therapy weekly and that helps a lot too. the best thing to do is not try and hide it, talking about it and being open and just treating the condition for what it is.

For me, it certainly did. (i had trouble distinguishing reality from dreams, imagination- yikes!) The FIRST thing you need to do is get medical help. be open with your psychiatrist. however, you should not feel uncomfortable with him/her. if you are, keep looking! medication can be very effective- if you are trying a slow-acting medication, be patient-it can take up to a few weeks to start working. note: be careful, benzodiazepines such as ativan and lorazepam can be addictive.
