Of course it is. I'm a 15 year old freshman, my brother is a 17 year old junior, and we date each other's friends all the time. Neither one of us is in a steady relationship, so it's nice when we need a date for a dance or something.

Use this rule of thumb. Half your age plus 7. So for a 17 year old you could go as young as 17/2 + 7 = 15.5. Of course that allows 50 year olds to date 32 year olds. ;)

I think it depends on the the girl and the boy.
Most girls are more mature then boys....by a couple of years.......so do the math with the average boy and girl at this age.
You also have to look at the laws in the state that the children live in...boy or girl....when one is under 16....it could get the older child in trouble.
The heart may say different and it may seem right....however it is reverse it....would a Mom think it is okay for her younger daughter to date a boy of this age....
interesting question.
Best wishes

It's not that much of an age gap. As long as the parents approve, then it's ok.

Yes but watch yourself; you wouldn't want to end up with a criminal case against you if it gets physical.
