Once the aristocracy of France was over thrown and beheaded by the rebels a very dangerous sense of patriotism took over France, kinda like here in the U.S. now. Where if a person was simply accused of being an anti patriot or being for the aristocracy, they would be imprisoned and sent to the Guillotine. People walked around in absolute terror because they were afraid they would look at someone the wrong way or disagree with the wrong person and be accused of being against the revolution and sent to death. Some people did not even venture out of their homes, it was called the reign of terror.
Funny, how history repeats itself aye. ;-)

it was when the french peasent people started hearing rumers that french soldiers were invading the peasent's homes and stealing their food and stuff so the people began to live in fear and eventually lead to them revolting
