I want to be a Car designer, but how????????

Question

I love to see the design of several old and new cars and I just want to know how and to become designer of one of them?
What field you have to study and what are the colleges they off these courses.
Are they mechanical Engineers, architects, fashion designers, graphic designers? Who they are??

Go to a College of Design. An Art college. A designer of the body of the exterior body of a car doesn't have to be a an engineer but should be able to read mechanical blueprints.

Get a degree, and apply for a job at places like Johnson Controls Inc. or a car manufacturer and just work your way to the top. JCI designs and manufactures interiors, but if you want to design the other parts like the engine or exterior then you want to get a job at a manufacturing factory.

in a nut shell they are all of the above, you need to have a vision and a dream, go from there.. learn to draw what you want it to look like, then do a small clay mock up so that you can envision the resulting shape and format, the rest is in the details, the mechanicals are the easy part, you can hire some one to finish the project.
