I have to agree with those who slightly scolded you for being so willing to give up your dog. With my last dog, a Dal who lived to 13 years 9 months, I often had to find homes far away from where I worked just to keep him. Some recommended I just give him up, but that was never an option. The good news is that I was able to keep him his entire life and I have zero regrets for that.

Will you be with your mother just a short time (say a few months)? If so, then please keep your dog. You may regret your decision otherwise. Do you have any alternatives to moving in with your mother? Perhaps you can move in with a friend or relative that will allow you to keep your dog.

But if you are positive you are ready to give up your Golden (I have a 7.5 month old Golden now and I can't imagine ever giving him up, so I really cannot relate to you), then please contact your vet and animal shelter. A puppy Golden will easily be snatched up - and it will be by a good person.

And please remember, getting a pet is a 10-15 year commitment, on average. If you don't foresee yourself doing this commitment, then it's best you not get a pet at that time.

Good luck!

To have a dog that long and to have to give it up is sad. And it is a shame that you can't keep it. l don't need another pet and you live too far away. But l would try to find IT a good home some wheres besides the Internet, if l were you. There are some real wrackos out there.L hope you find a real good home for it. l did not live where they told me no pets. Especially when they had pets themselves. But you may have no other choice. l really feel sad for you. Please give your pet to some one that will treat it good. Put a ad in your local newspaper and then just see for yourself what kind of people they might be. But even then they could be wrackos too.

How sad, a dog or any pet is a life long commitment, no matter what the circumstances. I once lived in a van with four cats, as to not have to pass the problem on to someone else. Now, life is perfect and I did not have to sacrifice my beloved animals. I am not trying to be unsympathetic, however I do volunteer work at a couple local shelters, and see the devastation of the lives of these poor creatures, due to irresponsible owners.

DO NOT OFFER YOUR DOG TO JUST ANYONE ON THE NET!!! Contact your local vet and let them know about this dog. They can help you find a proper, loving family who can assure the dog will be well cared for, taken to the vet, groomer, etc. as a dog should be. Offering you dog like you are, ... God knows who she will end up with! Crazy people take them to abuse them, or use them for scientific study (yes, that is VERY real), or someone might even take her to re-sell her for money for themselves! Do the right thing by your puppy. Take a little time, and find her a truely GOOD home.

I would strongly recommend that you contact a Golden Retriever Rescue Group in your area, they will be more than happy to help you with a home for your dog. Good Luck to you and your dog.

look into the closest Golden Retriever Rescue group. almost each and every breed of dogs has a Rescue group of people who love them. in case you will not be able to locate one, verify with yet another Rescue group, now and returned they're for known breeds, or they might have the skill to grant names to you. additionally, you are able to call the community dogs shelters and ask them to call you if one is added in. good good fortune!

First SHAME ON YOU!!!!!

Arizona has a wonderful Golden Rescue. Find it and give them your beautiful boy. They will find him just the right home.

I know how to find the Rescue but you need to get up off your butt and do it for yourself. All I did was google it!
People like you make my blood boil!!!!!!
