While cooking soup, if is does taste salty. Peel a potato and drop it in whole. Leave it in until the soup is done. Remove potato and viola!! the soup is no longer salty. Tre magnifico...

Add some cubes of potato as they love salt and will absorb a lot with out becoming salty themselves.

Have heard rice will do also but have never tried

ok my mum taught me this before....i did it and it worked...she told me to peel a whole onion and place it in the pot of salty soup,add in a little sugar too.

My mom said that using a little cream if its a thick colored sauce and adding sugar and some water to a watery clear sauce helps.

divide the soup
freeze one part to use later
then add potatoes and or sour cream to reduce the salt
you can also add bread on top
