Well, if you buy into the idea all religions sprang from Abraham, all Muslims ARE descended from Jews. Abraham had another son before Isaac by one of his wife's handmaidens (God told him to), and his name was Ishmael. After Isaac was born, Abraham drove Ishmael and his mother away. Legend has it Ishmael founded Islam. Supposedly this is why there is animosity between Muslims and Jews: They never forgave Abraham for driving Ishmael away.
I'll leave that with no further comment.
