It soinds like he wants you to wait around for him. Dont hold your breath. What will he be doing during this waiting time? I wouldnt want to be 2nd best or his choice if he has nothing better going on. I would say date others and if YOU are free when he is ready, then YOU decide if YOU want him back!

Move on and live your life for you, if he comes back sometime in the future fine, if not you will have lived your life to the best of your ability. You do not want to live your life regretting what might have been. Live well, love and laugh.
