Because we have to make sure we get to work on time to keep a job. Way home you can relax and be happy your all done for the day. No need to rush.

Because if I'm late for work, I get paid less. If I'm late getting home, my pay is unaffected. But I don't rush either way because I leave way early to beat the traffic and get some overtime in. I need to be at work at 8, but I get there at 6:30. That way, I have no traffic, I get paid more, and I'm never late. I'll bet YOU wish YOU could do that.

People are more worried about being late to work because their bosses may get pissed off at them. On the way home you don't have to worry about being late and you are also tired.

The commuter journey home is a time to decompress and space out a bit before you walk in the door and have your family attack you.

Because most people don't have someone there to ***** them out for being late coming home. And by late I mean a reasonable time, not hours.....
