Lazarus who was raised from the dead, was a friend of Jesus during His ministry. Lazarus had two sisters, Mary and Martha. I believe that he lived at Bethany. Account in John chapter 11 verses 1-51 There is also a beggar named Lazarus in Luke chapter 16 verses 19-31. He was carried to Abraham's bosom when he died.

The brother of Martha and Mary.
It would appear from the gospels that they were friends of Jesus.
Lazarus was the man Jesus raised from the dead.
John 11:1 Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.
John 11:2 And it was the Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
John 11:43 And when He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth."
John 11:44 He who had died came forth, bound hand and foot with wrappings; and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said^ to them, "Unbind him, and let him go."
John 12:1 Jesus, therefore, six days before the Passover, came to Bethany where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.
John 12:2 So they made Him a supper there, and Martha was serving; but Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with Him.
John 12:3 Mary therefore took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

There are two guys named Lazurus in the bible.

The most often remembered is Lazarus in John chapter 11, who was the friend of Jesus, brother of Mary and Martha. He died and Jesus raised him from the dead.

But Jesus also told a parable of a person named Lazarus in Luke chapter 16. In the parable, Lazarus is beggar. He has a miserable life just outside a hard-hearted rich man's door. He dies and goes to his blessed reward. The rich man also dies and suffers in torment while seeing Lazarus enjoying himself in "Paradise".

god bless

Well, there was a couple different people named Lazarus.

The Lazarus that Jesus raised from the dead was a close friend whom He loved. Jesus wept (John 11:35).

The brother of Martha and Mary; his resurrection was one of the outstanding miracles performed by Jesus Christ. (Joh 11:1, 2) Jesus had a deep love for this family living at Bethany, “about two miles” from Jerusalem on the road to Jericho. (Joh 11:5, 18)
He had been entertained at their home, perhaps frequently.
Lu 10:38-42.

Luke 16:19-31 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

It's that guy that Jesus allegedly tried to use as a guinea pig for resurrection. He failed dismally. Christians don't want to hear that but they can't show us that Lazarus!
