Why don't you just get her credit report pulled? It will show you all her credit lines issued by major banking institutions.
I don't think it will be easy to determine just by the card number, so the credit report is your best bet.
Everyone is entitled to a free credit report from each of the three credit reporting bureaus.

If the card number is 16 digits long, cards starting with a '6' are Discover cards. Master-Cards start with a '5' and Visa cards start with a '4'. If it is a 'store' card the number should not be 16 digits long. There is no standard format for store cards. If you have the card, it should say on the face who issued it.
