Every good and perfect gift is from above... Music existed before we were created... God is not limited to old hymns and Gospel. It is the devil that tries to imitate God and make that which is holy, unholy. The Holy Spirit is at work through music and can use any music to glorify God.

Music is one of the biggest dividers in the church... isnt that crazy?!?! an area where we can truly worship... singing our words of praise... and people are forgetting the reason we are singing.. it is to Honor God... it isnt about what we prefer... personally, i love all music except loud rap... I know just as many contemporary songs as i do hymns, and i know a LOT of the old hymns! and some new ones too... and then you have the old hymn words put to new music... talk about throwing people into a tizzy. crazy... when it all comes down to it, God doesnt care about the style of music.. he cares about the motive of our hearts when we sing... if our focus is on worshipping Him for his Glory... the style doesnt matter as long as it is for Him and centered on Him

song is ammoral. it rather is, it is going to communicate although the composers/performers like it to. It appears like those human beings on your church are nervous of a few thing. Now, you may do properly to verify Christian hymnology. Martin Luther took tunes from "present day" tavern songs and taught doctrine with them. The Wesley's in England employed normally time-commemorated "present day" song for a similar purposes. Even the excellent hymn author interior the international, King David, used "human beings" or "secular" tunes in a number of his psalms. interior the late 1700's some knee knocking, narrow minded religionist wanted to limit what we now understand as hymn making a song via fact it became deemed too "present day". If it rather is an argument of the pace or the beat, it rather is taken into consideration mandatory to understand that each physique song has a meter, a pace and a rythym and that the rythym on my own isn't risky. many times while the apprehensive religionists prefer to limit some thing it rather is to guard an misguided doctrine, dogma or time table. The Pharisees did a similar subject. remember the crucifixion? Do your self a want, bail out of that church on the instant and sit down, stroll, run and fly with some open hearted and open minded Christians.

I prefer the older stuff, but there are some new ones I like. I think churches should have a mix of old and new music. Some just sing the newer stuff.

I think that it is good for bringing younger people into the light of jesus. The words are usually uplifting and help alot of younger people feel closer to him. I think overall it is good for god. Alot of churches have a contemporary, and traditional service.

I think if it's music that praises God, then it's good! Don't forget, they are now including "Awesome God" in hymnals, and that is basically a contemporary Christian song.

All music touches someone's soul....in or out of church. Allowing the variety just may encourage more to attend?
