Why would people who live their life doing what God wants of them and believing that Heaven is a place without suffering, be frightened?

Good question. Probably because they care so much about the people they will leave behind. I think that you are appointed a time to live and a time to die, so I don't think you can extend or cut off this pre-appointed time for you to pass, no matter what you do. Basically I feel like when it's your time to go, it's your time to go.

Because they've been told to believe in Heaven. They are told that just believing is a virtue. However, they also have intelligence, common sense and a will to live. So, they also go to doctors.

Don't worry, though. People are able to rationalize away almost any contradiction in their thinking. Merely pointing out the contradictions won't put a dent in their indoctrination.
