If you're serious about working here, it would really help if you speak a bit of Thai. Aside from English teachers (which are the most abundant jobs, probably), other foreigners I've met were:

1. UN / International Organizations / Aid Agencies Employees (the latter also include doctors and health programmes managers)

2. Real Estate Agents

3. Diplomats / Embassy Staffs and Personnels

3. Travel Agents (but the person's Guatemalan and they probably take him to deal with Spanish-Speaking clients)

4. International Schools Teachers

5. A husband of my friend is a French offshore petroleum engineer, goes globe-trotting but live mainly in Thailand.

6. Professionals of multinationals

7. ...Reporters, of course.

Just to name a few.

Are you comparing between jobs in the past and present?

Thailand had been an agricultural country since early times. Many were crop growers, using the extensive rivers and canals network as an alternate to land transport as envisaged by the early rulers. Till now, it is still highly reliant on agriculture as its export.

With modernisation, Thailand has been transforming itself to be an industrialised country too. Its cheap labour cost had attracted many foreign companies to set up factories there. So you do get factories using its cheap labour force like in shoe production, clothes making and even electronics componenets.

Presently Thailand is gearing itself to be in the computer age. This is where it is still lagging behind some of the neighbouring countries.

Priding itself as a modern country, now tourism is one of the main money earners for the kingdom. Modernisation will bring in tech-savvy people to the country.

So in term of jobs, Thailand is still agricultural now, but in the cities, you get to see modernisation as in any modern city.
