Try a nice yellow ocher- more amber than yellow or even a
baked bread color-I've used this in my last two kitchens with the same color of cabinets and dark counter tops. Red, black and earth tones (in the golden area) accents look awesome with the colors you have. Or---just stick to neutral and use an off white background and black and or steel appliances.

I would go with something with a brown base in it and I don't mean dark as a dark color would make your kitchen look smaller. Go to the lightest part of the color chart. If you have a piece of the granite counters (spare left over) or maybe bring a small drawer that is easily removed to your local paint store then I am sure that they will be able to help you match it perfectly ..........Good Luck

Something light but perky. Go to the paint store and get some color paint chips and bring them home and place them on the cabinets and the counters to see what you like best. I have actually used pale yellow and pale orange in similar circumstances.

Near-white or white. Try going to Google and do an image search for "Dark Cherry Cabinets" or "Dark Cherry Kitchen Cabinet" and you can see what people do.

I would suggest a light pistachio green. I was just in a home with dark woodwork and this was the color on their walls. It's not something I would ever have thought to put together, but it came out beautifully!

Also, you can "test out" colors on some interactive web sites. Try this one: http://www.benjaminmoore.com/wrapper_pcv.asp?L=owner&K=intproj&N=intproj
