Own a 2004 Corolla 4 cyl. It uses 2 quarts of oil EVERY 1000 miles. This is excessive. It does not burn it or leak it !! Dealership has no answer what so ever. There would be absolutely no oil left if I waited until scheduled oil change. Have to constantly check oil every week and carry oil in trunk. Is any body else experiencing this type of problem ? Even if U own a later or earlier model w/4 cyl. let me know if this sounds familiar. Who can I contact at Toyota ???

Certain years of toyota corollas have oil ring failure on pistons. Toyotas are not junk, stop hating if your not a mechanic with years of toyota experience.

Have an 04 Corolla, no problems at all with the oil, or any other problems either.

I have only seen one 1zz motor loose oil at that rate. The problem wasn't fixed until I replaced the piston rings. Keep in mind that I have dealt with many many of these engines. I couldn't prove it but I feel that the car had been overheated and they didn't change the oil very often.
