where do you think people go in their "afterlife?" ...and why??

if the death is just the end, what's the point in living?

A good question, but not the answers I expected. Most likely they don't read important books! Sad. I know that I'm living for a reason, I'm here because I'm supposed to be making a difference somehow. I am lucky to be alive and breathing. I thank God everyday!

I don't think heaven or hell exists. I have not seen any evidence that supports the existence of any afterlife. Hence, I do not think there is one either.

I know it may be a hard thing to understand, that an afterlife may not exist, and that we all die, and not continue. But if this is the case, how would you change your life now to take advantage of this knowledge?

I think you might have missed the point. If we don't believe in heaven or hell, we probably don't believe in an afterlife.

Ideally, I'd like to think that something happens after we die, but honestly, as depressing as it is, I think we die and that's it. We are no longer on any plane of existence consciously. Our bodies are either cremated or decompose and become a part of the Earth again. Or we're donated to science.

The point of living is to experience everything you can while you are alive. Get to know yourself, other cultures, love, knowledge. There's so much to do while alive, how can you live it for anything beyond itself?

People go back to the earth after they die for the reason of cycles in ecology in which our bodies were made from the gross elements which surround us. Anything else would be stepping into other galaxies within the universe.

Heaven is translated from the Greek word Ouranos which is equivalent to Orion the constellation and if this is where God/ Elohim and the angels dwell or are from then God is an extraterrestrial.

There is no "afterlife." People die like raccoons struck by 18-wheelers, mosquitoes hitting a bug-zapper, or elephants that reach a wrinkled old age. It's all over.

Before we were born, we didn't exist, and it doesn't bother us one whit. After we die, it won't matter either. It's only now that we consider not existing horrid.

EDIT: If you have to ask what the point is in living, you may want to examine how you're spending your life.

Let us back up, why do you think there has to be an afterlife? Wishful thinking?

Valhalla or down with Gwyn ap Nudd maybe? these are not the first afterlife myths.

The point of living is to find out the point of living.

Thinking, seeing, remembering, are not possible without functioning neurons, without a living brain. When the brain dies you cease to exist.

The point of living? Life is a grand adventure. If also lived with honesty, charity and courage it is beautiful. Make the most of life. Accept that it does end with finality.

I don't believe this but some people believe in reincarnation, that you just keep getting born again and again as different people or even animals and that it keeps going on forever.

We generally don't think there is an afterlife either. There is no evidence at all that there is one.
