Is asking this question akin to pavlov ringing his bell?
These two words elicit vehement dogmatic answers from both sides of this argument.
Will you people never get over it and realize that these debates are pursued with ego at the root?
If anyone has actually seen evolution, then speak up.
If anyone has actually witnessed creation, then tell me.
If not, the aren't both of these arguments based on faith in a thoery?

Sorry, getting a flu shot does not prove evolution, it only proves ibservable adaption. Next!

Om? that argument is just as effective as saying creation is observable "just look at it's effects". Thjankyou though for continuing to prove my point!

Oh really Paul S? You have seen life evolve from non-life?
Didn't think so.

MChummer? Look up the term "false dichotomy", you apparently need to educate yourself on this.

You people have not evolved much in the comprehension of the question.
Just like pavlovs dogs, you salivate with all your empty arguments and lack of valid proof. You qoute science as theists qoute the Bible, thus you are all one and the same, blind followers of others.
Free up your minds people!

Hey paul, unless you have seen life come from nonliving matter, you have observed adaption, not evolution, get educated please

you see paul you are at the top percent of arrogance as you can not distinguish between adaption and evolution!
care to go for four errors? get an education on definitions please!

Yes they are. Oh how I long for the day when people will grow up, and ask questions without this endless ridiculous and unprovable debate.

Evolution.

you said~ " If anyone has actually seen evolution, then speak up. "

Maybe you should speak up then because you see it all around you everyday. We all do. Just stop for a second and think about how evolution works and then look around you. I guarantee you will be able to answer your own question.

You may claim that you get the same feeling from looking at it from a creation outlook , but that is not making sense of the world around you but deciding its to complicated to actually understand and fooling yourself to be more comfortable as this is what many people in your environment are doing.

I've seen evolution. So have you.

No-one witnessed creation.

Case closed.
================
I never said that I saw life come from non-life. I said that I've seen evolution.

You need to educate yourself. You don't have a clue what you're talking about.

So far the creationists have a perfect record: every question and answer they have posted here has been based in pure ignorance.
=================
Evolution does not involve life coming from non-life.

You've been wrong about this twice now. Care to try for three?
I'll bet that if you try hard enough, you can come up with an even more ignorant piece of arrogance. How bad are you willing to make yourself look?

The answering to the question of either creation or evolution will go on endlessly. Mankind has always searched for its "roots"; so to speak. Our school system begins early in our life span by trying to explain "how we, as man, got to be here".
Creationists, in our Judeo-Christian upbringing, have gone by what the Word of God says concerning our "roots". Yes, I am a creationist. There's no use arguing with me to persuade me otherwise.
On the other hand, as you pointed out, the theory (or theories) are always there in front of us since Darwin presented his publication, 'The Origin of Species', in 1859. That sparked the debate that still rages today. This theory is basically taight in our school systems. Interestingly, its taught more as "fact" than theory. Thus, removing creation, found in our Bibles, to sit along side other "ideas" from other religions and early thought on how "we got here".
I am not here to debate with anyone. Nor do I want to be "pushed" into such a debate. Because what basically happens are two people, or more, arguing and fighting over their beliefs as to "how we got here". As I stated earlier, I am a creationist and I'm as unmovable on my beliefs as those are concerning evolution.
You are very correct in asking, "... both of these arguments based on faith in a thoery?" In so asking that question you have hit it on the nail. Because whether an individual believes in Creation or Evolution, it takes faith to believe which one you believe in. If one's faith is in Creation and another's faith is in evolution, there's really no use trying to change that person's "faith". This is not like gong to a remote tribe in a remote area and witnessing to them; one way or the other..
Other Christians and Jews may disagree with me. If one's "faith" has been solely founded on what they were taught, then you are bumping up against years of that belief system drilled into them.
Anyone can try to explain either view, I certainly have no problem in that, but words alone are not going to really make the difference. How a person lives out their faith will certainly be the best witness.
Mind you, as far as "going to heaven", again, my beliefs will refer me back to Jesus, the Christ (or Messiah). He is THE only way to go to heaven. No amount of deeds and/or words on our part will do it. Yet, again, the BEST way to show my faith is to LIVE it.
I'm certainly not against "witnessing" either but I MUST SHOW MY FAITH; that's the best "witness".

Creationists and evolutionists, Christians and non-Christians all have the same evidence—the same facts. Think about it: we all have the same earth, the same fossil layers, the same animals and plants, the same stars—the facts are all the same.

The difference is in the way we all interpret the facts. And why do we interpret facts differently? Because we start with different presuppositions. These are things that are assumed to be true, without being able to prove them. These then become the basis for other conclusions. All reasoning is based on presuppositions (also called axioms). This becomes especially relevant when dealing with past events.

Past and present
We all exist in the present—and the facts all exist in the present. When one is trying to understand how the evidence came about (Where did the animals come from? How did the fossil layers form? etc.), what we are actually trying to do is to connect the past to the present.

However, if we weren’t there in the past to observe events, how can we know what happened so we can explain the present? It would be great to have a time machine so we could know for sure about past events.

Christians of course claim they do, in a sense, have a ‘time machine’. They have a book called the Bible which claims to be the Word of God who has always been there, and has revealed to us the major events of the past about which we need to know.

On the basis of these events (Creation, Fall, Flood, Babel, etc.), we have a set of presuppositions to build a way of thinking which enables us to interpret the evidence of the present.

Evolutionists have certain beliefs about the past/present that they presuppose, e.g. no God (or at least none who performed acts of special creation), so they build a different way of thinking to interpret the evidence of the present.

Thus, when Christians and non-Christians argue about the evidence, in reality they are arguing about their interpretations based on their presuppositions.

That’s why the argument often turns into something like:

‘Can’t you see what I’m talking about?’

‘No, I can’t. Don’t you see how wrong you are?’

‘No, I’m not wrong. It’s obvious that I’m right.’

‘No, it’s not obvious.’ And so on.

These two people are arguing about the same evidence, but they are looking at the evidence through different glasses.

It’s not until these two people recognize the argument is really about the presuppositions they have to start with, that they will begin to deal with the foundational reasons for their different beliefs. A person will not interpret the evidence differently until they put on a different set of glasses—which means to change one’s presuppositions.

1. The Flu shot is a visible example of evolution for the dunces who can't read.
2.Evolution is a theory. In common language that doesn't mean much. In science, that is MASSIVE! A theory can only be named such after PILES ANDPILES OF EVIDENCE, THOUSANDS OF FIELD TESTS AND LAB TESTS, all replicable,YEARS OF PAPERWORK, and in this case, ACCPETED BY OVER 99% OF AlL SCIENTISTS IN THE WORLD. Evolution is as massive as GRAVITY. Creation is based on one book....that's not even real.

Speciation of insects has been witnessed in laboratories. Biological evolution is defined as genetic change in any given species over time-evolution has therefore been seen. Only people who are ignorant of the facts question evolution. Ego doesn't enter into it it is purely down to a mass of solid indisputable evidence showing evolution is a fact. Creationism is nothing-it belongs in the bin. Challenge my answer-I want to give you a big hit to burst your bubble.

I think it all depends on the person. I have seen some heavenly bodies on women that would take your breath away....That is divine creation. Then I have seen at least one episode of Jerry Springer...evolution or more to the point, Mutation.

Your answer is in Genesis 1:1. In the beginning God, created the Heaven and the earth. The Bible says nothing about no evolution. God created everybody, and everything.

It is a silly argument, I personally believe in Creation, but I have no clue as to how exactly God went about doing it, He gives us some clue with Genesis, but a lot of it is open to interpretation, I don't believe in Evolution because I think if it existed then things would still be evolving, why would they stop? I believe in Creationism and my faith justifies my belief, it is people who believe in evolution that argue so much because they need fact and cannot find it.
