I think the meaning of life is for each person to try and figure out their meaning in this world...and use it to their best advantage to make the world a better place.
I am always looking for reason that I was put here on earth, and right now with my career as a nurse I feel like I'm doing something...
If you have to ask, you're not searching hard enough...try and find how you can benefit and be an asset to this planet!
It's a great feeling!

to all who answered; to go to heaven.
what therefore do you believe is the meaning of heaven?
I personally see no meaning in life, to install a meaning is, in my opinion, to install a belief in a creator for there needs to be a creator to give a substance (created by the creator) meaning.
Being as a creator is so improbable then there is very little possibility of a meaning.
Some say the meaning is to reproduce and create more of a species; they may have been living organisms that still lived and yet could not reproduce; they did die out immediately but to give one organism a meaning for existence, all must be given a meaning; reproduction is therefore not the meaning as some organisms, even if it was once upon a time, cannot reproduce.

Could I respectfully suggest you read a book called 'The purpose driven life' by Rick Warren. It starts with the first chapter entitled 'What on earth am I here for?'. there are 40 days worth of readings and studies which should cover most if not all the questions you would have about life and it's purpose.

Most of life is a distraction. TV and Radio is a distraction. All the business deals, all the pagers and cell phones, It's all a waste. We are all placed here for 120 years at the most, according the bible. In this time , you have to make a decision on what you believe in. As one poster told me the other day, all that goes on here on earth is a waste and is nothing compared to eternal salvation. Jesus said , I go and prepare a place for you.

Despite all the pretty New Age blog! Earthlife has a definite purpose.
The Original Sin was the sin of Pride. And the Fall from Grace was from Heaven.
The human being was created to fix a screw-up perpetrated by the fallen spirits, who came to this world
to experience the carnal pleasures, like eating, sleeping, and sex. And became bound to this world by the spiritual
forces that create it.
Earthlife is like "walking a mile in another mans
moccasins". (That was originally a Native American
saying). The spirits up there, look down on man and say
"Look how evil they are. God should destroy them ALL!"
And the Creator says, "Why don't you go there, and see how you do?"
Spirits are lined up in the spirit world, wanting to come to Terra. In order to strip themselves of self-righteousness and hypocrisy. How can one criticize a drunk, when He or She died a drunk? Or condemn a murderer, when He or She murdered?
Do you know why they spirits are lined up to come here?
Because Earthlife, and the selfish nature of the fleshly body, makes this world the hardest to overcome
self-righteousness and hypocrisy in. To refine the spirit, and make it stronger in the end!

Life. It has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.
I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.
You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.
The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us

Here's the meaning of life. You were created so that you could come to accept God's free gift of salvation and learn to spiritually walk with God. After that, it's your mission to spread th Gospel to others. And then, after it's all said and done, rather than end life in a grave, you can be in Heaven with God.
