Contrary to what people think, going to the bathroom does not help you lose weight. It is also not a measure of your metabolism (which is a biochemical process unrelated to the frequency of peristalsis of the bowel).
The best way to lose weight is to eat healthy foods in proper portion sizes and to exercise. There's no cheating if you want to be healthy.

Only in the sense that you lose the weight of the contents of your bladder and/or bowels. You do not actually burn calories/fat.
If you take laxatives frequently, they will cause food you eat to pass through your system more quickly, and nutrients to not be absorbed. Problems that can occur from laxative abuse are:
