1. Lust, not love. Sorry, but at 19 and under, that's all it really is. You can't fully love someone else until you really know yourself, and truly know the other person. When you're a teenager, you're still developing who you are.
2. Peer pressure. Boyfriend/girlfriend wants to do "it."
3. Curiosity.
4. Stupidity. They think that all the bad things they hear about (pregnancy, STDs, etc.) is not going to happen to them.
5. Stupidity. They think that having sex will make someone else like them more.
6. Stupidity. They think that having sex will make them a grown-up.

1. They probably think they will look cooler or older if they have sex.
2. They crave a closer relationship with someone.
3. Females think having sex with a guy will make him committed to her but the guys usually just walk away from the relationship afterwards.
4. They think it would be cool to have a baby. It's not, because most teens are still in high school and those that aren't probably aren't married so shouldn't be having kids. They aren't financially prepared to have kids in high school.
5. Their hormones and emotions are out of control.
6. They have nothing better to do.

umm, i guess it depends on the person but here are the reasons i know why some of my friends decided to have sex..
1 - they have a boyfriend or girlfriend and feel they should
2 - their bf/gf pressure them into doing it
3 - "everyone else is doing it" .. peer pressure
4 - a lot of them just like the feeling..
5 - they want to look 'cool'
6 - they feel their bf/gf will love them more if they do it
7 - they have older siblings or friends who have
8 - they truly are in love with the person
9 - some girls do it to get a reputation.. they actually WANT a bad one because they like to have attention on them.
10 - they want to feel older and more mature
11 - they like 'rebeling'
those are just some of the reasons i know. personally, i haven't had sex yet.. i want to meet the right person and know i wanna spend the rest of my life with them, instead of just screwing my boyfriend i've been going out with for 2 months.. and then have him leave me.

The question should be 'why would anyone want to have sex?'. We're all humans with sexual urges...we get them naturally to carry on the human race. Teenagers get these urges just as much as adults do.

They have not bonded well with their father figure (psychologically), they have unreal expectations of wanting a child of their own, hormonal changes in the body & the natural desire, not enough education of the risks, and it feels good...can't think of anything else.

It feels good, they're in a rush to grow up and experience adult things, they're curious, they like the "intimacy" with another person, it's a rush to do something that they're being told not to, and it's something to brag about.
