Olive oil absorbs into the hair very quickly. If your hair is fine, it will be too heavy for it. I use olive oil every other day, and my hair eats it up.

Use a shampoo meant for oily hair. Wash and rinse 3 times, then condition.

Don't use any dish detergent, it will defeat the purpose you set out to do with the olive oil. It will absolutely strip your hair terribly. It must be shampooed at least twice but using a good shampoo. That should do it, but if your hair is a little greasy, leave it alone for a day or two and then shampoo again and use cream rinse. Your hair will be silky and shiny.

Yeah dont use cheap dish soap. Itll just make your hair all gross and frizzy and totally ruin the point of using the olive oil in the first place. Use a good shampoo and just keep rinsing with hot water in the shower. Itll come out

Your regular shampoo should take it out as long as you didn't over do.The reason for putting olive oil in is to add some oil to your hair so why would you use Dawn? Did you warm the oil first?
