The deltoid muscle had 3 heads....front, side, and back. Work all 3 for the best look. A simple dumbell shoulder press is great for this. The dumb bells allow greater range on motion, thus more strength and mass potential. Do upright rows, holding a bar, hands shoulder width apart, and pull it up to your chin and back down. Doing cleans help work the front head. Grab the bar, hold it at waist level and bring it up the the chest like you are preparing to press it. Also lateral raises are a good exercise. Grab two dumb bells, hold them by your side and raise them up above parralell with the shoulder and let them back down to your side. You should look like a bird flapping it's wings. Do all these motions slow, up and down, Control the motion and eliminate momentum. This really helps with size and strength as well.

Here is a whole bunch of exercises that will build your deltoids. http://www.exrx.net/Lists/ExList/ShouldWt.html But, make sure you don't do over-do the pressing movements and neglect the pulling movements/posterior(rear) deltoid movements, this will lead to a muscle imbalance and injury.
