I've never taken judo but it can be devastating if used right. Its more the artist and not the art anything can be used effectively. And actually a know quite a few MMA gyms that teach judo or wrestling for takedowns, and bjj or sambo for ground fighting.
I guess you don't know that Fedor Emelianenko (current heavyweight champion since 2003 and is practically undefeated his only loss was a bleeding tko from an ILLEGAL elbow strike and avenged that loss anyway) is a Judo and Sambo Russian/World Champion.
I wanna see how good you do against him

Ultimate fighting proves nothing. Too many rules. Most judo teachers don't teach for anything but competition anyway and not for practical, real world, street application. In almost 34 years I have only encountered 8 or 10 that taught for real usage, but like most real fighters, they won't get involved with tournaments that have too many rules (UFC,Pride Fighting, etc). They prefer more realistic experiences.

Judo is good if you know how to use it, but I would rather stick to good striking & wrestling skills.
