Hi,
I am redecorating my room and I want a dolphin theme. I know what bedding and colors I want, I just need decorations!!! I already have an idea of what I want, but it is too expensive. Go to shindigz.com, search for underwater, and click on the 7th result, which should say Decorating Kit, Underwater Deep Blue Destiny Set - ShindigZ.

That is what I want, but it is too expensive!! I need sites with things just like it, but less expensive.

Please help!

Thanks

That is really Kool, I'm kinda a doit yourself person so I would start with painting the room, divide the room in thirds from the floor up the first section I would paint in a dark bluegreen with a little purple in it the next section lighter but leave out the purple the third in a lighter blue green with more blue and less green dont make it a stright line very it by making curves up and down in both color transitions. For the waves take a hoola hoop with a light weight fabrick such as organza in the bluegreen color cut in strips about 1/2 the width that it is sold in if it is sold 45" wide then your strip would be 221/2 " wide, fold over the end of material and glue it around but not to the hoola hoop (you will need to gather it and if you glue it to the hoop it will not gather) If your room is 12 ft by 12 ft you will need strips about 7 ft long or 2 and 1/3 yards long to do the entire room would be about 28 strips 22inches wide and 7 ft long total in length to buy would be about 33 yrds at $2.00 yrd $66.00. attach to the hoop then attch hoop to ceiling leaving the light fixture in the center. then pull loose ends to the wall and staple or thumb tack to ceiling or wall where they meet pulling up at slightly different hights so they are not too uniform and resemble waves. I would buy some of the things like the seaweed for$ 69.00 and the fish for $39.00. You could make the chest out of a box or buy an old trunk at a flea market or a yard sale and paint it up. Its a great Idea and thanks for telling me about the sight I showed it to my grandaughter and they are going to use the idea for the prom. Guess who gets to put it together. One last thought I noticed on one of the other displayes white mini lights they would look great on the ceiling above the material as it would look like the water is catching the light.

If you want to save money, YOU have to be creative. Make what you want. If you don't know how, go to the library, check out a book, and learn. That is how you save money in decorating, regardless of what theme it is you want.
