You have to burn calories by doing some type of cardio exercise.
Running, walking, hiking, aerobics, kickboxing...whatever works best for you. This will help you to burn calories and knock off about 1-3 pounds a week if done right which will help you reach your goal of 20 pounds in 5 months. In addition to this and helping with that tummy, do crunches three times daily. Morning, afternoon, and at night. Hope that helps!

Whenever I need to lose weight I jion a sport. You can run about 5 miles a day and increase it to ten as you get faster.
