The Supra might be used in the NASCAR Busch Series in the near future. NASCAR has discussed the idea of using sportier models of cars (Chevy Camaro or Corvette, Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger, and Toyota Supra) to give the Busch Series (soon to be the Coke Series or Wal-Mart Series or Panasonic Series--there will be a new title sponsor in 2008) a new identity.

They could, but it isn't going to look the least little bit like a Supra. Nascar has strict guidelines that cars have to meet as far as length, height, and width. Pretty much the only thing that a manufacturer can do to make their car look like the actual road driven production car is design the nose of the car and the window openings to resemble that of their production car. And even if they do that, they still have to pass nascars specifications to make sure that they do not have an unfair advantage. They also need a rear deck lid, a.k.a. trunk, which a Supra does not have. Nascar would never allow a true hatch back to compete. If they did I'm pretty sure the track would already be filled with Vipers and Corvettes.

Are you even in the same arena? You put a supra on the track with a nascar it will look like a tin can in a smasher in less than 2 laps. Just the weight difference could get someone killed.

It wouldn't matter. Mikey is their # 1Driver and he's a joke. Their only hope is Reuitman. The best thing Toyota could do now is learn from this season, then next season, get some real Drivers. Leave Reuitman in, he's pretty good, Mikey couldn't drive a cab.

NASCAR races mid-size sedan based cars. a toyota supra would not be eligible to compete. neither would a ford mustang or a chevy corvette.

I agree! It would be great...........to have another feeble attempt of a Japanese product to be in the backfield sucking up the fumes from AMERICAN cars. Maybe we should eat TOFU with CHOPSTICKS as we swig Bud-light and scream BONZAI! and watch the sacrificial Toyota's fail miserably. "Like a rock" (no I'm not referring to Okinawa)
