A tiny heart pendant. One of my boyfriends bought me one of these many years ago. I still wear it to this day. She'll always remember it was from you.

I have always found the gifts with the most thought have been the best---you do not have to get anything expensive, just put thought into it. One of my friend was getting into the real estate business and his girlfriend got him a bunch of stuff that related to real estate for valentine's day. She bought him a few books about flipping houses, a monopoly game, and other cute stuff. Everyone in our office thought that was the best gift ever. You could do something similar. For example, if she likes movies, you make her a gift basket with her favorite candy, some microwave popcorn and a gift certificate to the local video store. Or if she is in love a particular vehicle you could get a remote control car of same make and model. This is your first birthday with her buy/make her something she will remember--not some anyone could have bought her.

It would be helpful to have more info - age, interests etc. But would recommend putting thought in to make it a gift she appreciates rather than just spending lots of money on her

hm. ask the owner of some fashion boutique if you can go there with her very early in the morning before the store opens .. especially for her ... let her try everything ... and the end of the day go again and say her to chose whatever she wants and you would pay for it

Try to be as natural as possible. In other words be yourself upon expressing gifts or try to use lateral thinking
