With a visitors visa, you will only be able to work illegally.

If you want to emigrate to the UK, get a residency permit etc. you need to come to the UK with permission to do so.

Take a look at

http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/

for more information. Read especially the part "Guidance - Work permit holders".

What you can do is to go to the UK with your visitors visa, hand people your CV and return to your home country. The employers in the UK can then try to get a work permission for you. If you have this, you can come from your home country to the UK to work.

Quote: "You should not travel to the UK to start work before you get your work permit. If you arrive in the UK without a work permit to take up a job that needs one, you will be refused entry."

Hi,

If you come on a visitor's visa, you can work illegally and take up smaller jobs such as in restaurants etc. To be able to do a proper job in the UK, employers ask for your NI number (National Insurance). You have to apply for NI number once you are in the UK and if you have found a job or are looking for a job. You will not get your NI unless you have a proper work permit or any other type of visa like HSMP or working holiday.
Its best to do get either a working holiday visa or students visa and come here. Later you can apply for a work permit or HSMP.

All the best

Check out this site for the information you need...and please remember that if you do work here illegally and you are found out, you will be deported and refused entry to the country again as it will be so stamped in your passport. If that happens then you will find that you will probably be denied entry to a great deal of other countries as well.

Doesn't a visitor's visa prohibit you from working?
