I came to a 4 way, the car in front of me went first, I moved up the car to my right went next this was correct. I was turning left, blinker on. The car opposite me which was going straight then came to the stop. I started to turn left, she came straight and almost hit me. My friend she had the right of way because she was going straight. But I was at the stop before her. Who had the right of way? He insists she did because she was going straight even though I was at the stop before her. My arguement back was then I would have to wait for everyone that was going straight. Who is right, me or him?

You had the right of way. Doesn't matter that you were turning. Tell me where your friend is driving around so I know not to go there. I'll get hit by him.
I'm glad you were able to avoid an accident. Some people just assume too much, or just don't know.

YOU are right if the facts are as you say.
At a 4-way stop, the right of way follows the order that vehicles come to a full stop at the stop line. If you stopped before the oncoming car, you had the right of way.
If vehicles stop at approximately the same time, priority goes first to the vehicle on the right. If you are turning left, a car coming straight ahead is on your right as you turn and therefore has the right of way.

You are suppose to go in order of who stopped first and if two stop at the same time I think the person to the right has right of way. You were there first so you go first.

Technically its either the first person to get to the stop sign but the rule is that the person to the right goes first. But what normally happens is the person with the biggest vehicle always ends up going first.

Whoever gets to the line and stops first has right of way. In case you both get there at about the same time, play it safe and let them go - it only holds you up for a couple of seconds - not a big deal, considering.

him. he who is turning left has to yeild. the 1 going straight has the right of way, the turner has to cross basically 2 lanes of traffic: the 1's to the left, and the 1 in front before the turn. this is for only the 1st car tho. it would have been legally ur turn after the girl that almost hit u.
4 way stops with alot of traffic can be confusing. it's all in the timing. it would help to watch this intersection for a few to get the feel for it. there's an intersection like this at a nearby mall that could easily get a rookie in trouble. be careful out there.

"You may occasionally arrive at a four-way stop sign at the same time as another driver. In such cases the driver to the right has the right of way. However, not all drivers know this. If someone to your left decides to go first, let them!"

You are correct. Had the other driver who was going straight not had a stop sign, then of course they would have the right of way.
First stop, first go.
