It depends on the size of the strawberries, but about 8 large strawberries would yield a cup if they were cut up.

I needed 4 cups of "mashed" strawberries for freezer jam. It took about 3 pounds of average sized strawberries to make the 4 cups.

How big are the berries. Are they whole berries, berries that have been cut in half, berries that have been sliced, berries that have been cut into small bits?
It makes a big difference. But, generally speaking:
1 1/2 pounds = 2 pints or 1 quart
1 small basket = 1 pint
1 pint = 3 1/4 cups whole berries
1 pint = 2 1/4 cups sliced berries
1 pint - 1 2/3 cup pureed berries
1 cup = about 4 ounces
