Varicose veins develop when you have faulty valves in your veins and weakened vein walls. Normally, the one-way valves in these veins keep the blood flowing efficiently against gravity up toward the heart. When these valves do not function properly, blood pools, pressure builds up, and the veins become weakened, enlarged, and twisted.

Regular exercise will aid circulation and strengthen vein walls. Your blood pressure will lower as your fitness improves.

If you are prone to varicose veins you will still get them. Probably not as bad. If you have them already it won't get rid of them

It will have no effect at all - my partner cycled daily for over 20 years - he has varicose veins and has had 3 operations to have them stripped - he now suffers from leg ulcers and gets at least 1 every year. He was a very fit person went swimming, walking, mountain walking and cycled a lot. Unfortunately now the way he is he is lucky to be able to walk a very short distance to our local shop - he is 39 years old

any exercise that improves circulation and forces blood back up the legs is good. Walking is best, but cycling is good too, once there are episodes of energetic movement, eg, cycling up a hill or against the wind.

It will probably improve your circulation and should definitely strengthen your leg muscles. I have vvs and did cycling for ages. They will probably ache more at first but when your body gets used to it, you should be ok.
