Murphy's is an excellent beer, imo.

As for others, it depends on whether you like smooth or robust stouts.

There are so many beers out there that have wonderful flavors, it depends on what you are looking for. I love stout, but also the bok biers made in Belgium, Germany and Holland. Leffe, Duvel, Brugse Dubbel, Chimay, Lefevre. I could go on and on. Murphy's is very commercial and I am sure quite nice, but go and try a few others. If you are looking for a dark beer with more alcohol, try a triple. They are out there. The french although known primarily for their wines, make a mean beer themselves. Europeans like their alcoholic beverages, that and a good worst/schnitzel, pork chop, slice of ham, and some potatoes, yum!!!! Or even a pretzel. A good football game, hockey, yes!!!

Murphy's is pretty good and I like all of the flavors too. I also like Guiness and Bass. Have you ever tried Hobgoblin (not really a stout, but dark)? How about Young's Double Chocolate Stout? Not sure where you are but 1554 is good also:

The best dark beer is the one I have in front of me, and that depends on where I am. Don't know Murphy's- where can you get it? I like Tooheys Old (available mainly in Australia).

Guinness is a great beer but I find you can't drink many Good for the money spending when out for the night
