It's getting to the point where I don't shave as much as I need to. Kind of gross, I know, but I don't really have a choice. I've tried everything from Johnson's Baby Lotion to Jergens, but the lotions just make it burn. (Have it on my back and legs mostly...looks like I had an allergic reaction to something.) The only thing that I can put on it that I already have is baby oil, but I don't really want to have to lather up with that every day.

The baby oil is the only thing I can put on it that won't burn, but it doesn't help in clearing it up.

Aveeno is very tolerant for sensitive skin but it doesn't provide that much hydration the skin needed. I use Palmers Cocoa Butter, scents free for sensitivi skin and it does really god for hydrating even the very dry flaky skin.

Have you tried corn huskers lotion? I have severely dry skin, and didn't like to use much lotion when I was younger, which resulted in my hands cracking open and bleeding. Mom went through just about every lotion known to man until she found this stuff; it's sort of a clear, gel-like lotion, and it doesn't smell the greatest, but once it's on you don't notice. It healed my hands up in a couple of months, and now to keep it from coming back I use lotions that contain aloe or are specifically marked for sensitive skin.

Palmer's Cocoa butter cream or lotion. Can be found in dollar stores, is dirt cheap, gentle, and you will smell good enough to eat. Doctors recommend it for scar tissue and stretch marks. Moisturize while you are damp from bathing/showering. Best not to overbathe in winter. Olive oil is another wonder. If your skin is extremely sensitive right now ask the pharmacist. Once skin improves just stay in the routine. A humidifier might help too.

Try hand and body lotion from L'Bri Pure n' Natural Skin Care. Aloe is the first ingredient (instead of mineral oil or water like most lotions) so it absorbs into your skin and is totally gentle and moisturizing. The rest of the ingredients are minerals, herbs and botanicals. It's amazing stuff. Check it out at suenelson.lbri.com. Good luck!

Olay quench is good for dry skin--although a bit expensive for a lotion. Try Johnson's creamy baby oil. It absorbs fast, and really does the job. When you are bathing, try something with shea butter, or coco butter--Palmers, or the like. Vaseline(petroleum jelly) to hands and feet before bed, and cover with socks and gloves, do this once or twice a week, it will keep hands and feet baby soft. Hope it helps!

you need to be sure to exfoliate the dead skin and use a hypo-allergenic moisturizing cream, soap, etc. for the full body treatment... if you're skin's the sensitive may be worth a trip to the dermatologist for a prescription.. skin gets hammered in the winter months the dry air is just the worst! also, keep a humidifier on in your home... helps keep moisture in as well..

Yeah I'd also say extra virgin olive oil (honestly it's so moisturising). Or you could try brazil nut body butter, cocoa butter or shea butter from the body shop.

Good luck with the winter skin blues!

You should try euricine lotion. It's about $10 but well worth it for people who have dry skin or ezema.
