If you're not going~why not?
If you already went (or already know)~what was (is) the message/ sermon today?
What really makes you want to go to church and please more detail than just "my faith"

I went to church and the Gospel was about when Jesus was tempted in the desert. The sermon was about how being tempted is not a sin, but giving into that temptation is a sin.

I go to church because I love to be close to God and receive him in the Eucharist. I love to hear his word and get advice from my priests on how to live my life.

Church is not boring if you really know what is going on during the Mass or service. Just try to take at least one thing from it and concentrate on that all week.

Thanks for asking! God bless!

Having been raised in a Catholic family and attending a Catholic school for nine years, AND going up in the 50-60's and being part of the Vietnam era and the assassinations of the Kennedy brothers, followed by the church caving and removing most Latin from services...I became very disillusioned and decided I could talk to a god outside of a church building and without the trappings of a sermon or a priest who was just asking for money

I went to the early service this morning. Our church is just completing a sermon series on Love, Marriage, and Sex. Our pastor does a great job of applying scripture to everyday life and relevant happenings. He even has a "fill in the blank" sheet in the bulletin to help listeners keep up with the sermon, and he makes the sermon apply to everyone (even singles and children in this particular series.)

I think what keeps me going to church consists of three things: The sermon series, the social fellowship, and the connection I feel with God when I'm there. (It kind of keeps me "accountable" for the week ahead....and it REALLY helps when I go two or three times a week.)

I did not go to Church today. I believe that alot of people go to Church because they need the spiritual fellowship that they get. That is a good thing. For myself I don't need it. I found that when I did go to church ,all the people that were there on a Sunday ,were the same ones who would then be talking about neighbors and friends all week. Guess they have to go to ask for forgiveness.

No, I am not attending Church today. I feel Church is a place to go for fellowship but I find it more of a place to get noticed and be seen.

I have more important things to do. Going to church won't pay my bills, nor will it get me that degree and career.

Sorry, but that's the truth. Coming from someone who was raised as a Christian.

ADDED....DANE, that's exactly where I'm headed! Law Enforcement. Good for you!

I never go. I have not met a priest that stirred my faith since grade school. Most of them are cold or weird, although I admit I have not tried that hard. I would like to try different religions, but it would kill my parents.

Life is precious. It should be lived to the fullest. It is most beautifully lived with the values of honesty, charity and courage.

And no, I am not about to waste my precious life worshipping an imaginary supernatural being.
