I like "mantequilla de cacahuate" (peanut butter) in Spanish, and "brouhaha" in English.
But pamplemousse is awesome--I had my boyfriend saying it all the time when I came back from France. :)

The word, "Idiot". It's versatile, describes most people and can be used in any social setting.
Second choice... "Onomatopoeia". Not as easy to work into conversation as my number one word, but I still try to use it daily.
