TRUELY no disrespect intended in my question...Yet wondering...Why do people feel that going to a Rabbi, Priest, Pope etc. make a blessing any more " solid " than if a person simply sat out in a light mist of rain (water concept of holy or blessed water) and simply, exclusively communicated with God, Jesus Christ, Angels, Spirit etc. directly ?

Why do people feel that they can not be ' saved ' unless they are baptized, blessed etc. by a Priest, Rabbi, Pope etc.?

I'm simply Spiritual and very much have a very clear relationship and communication with God, Jesus Christ, Angels, Spirit. The authentic Love that is felt, the Knowingness of knowledge that's reflected of soul etc. through my relationship of communication, heart, soulfulness..the clearly felt Love is of no doubt to me that it's very real yet I don't attend any church or temple. My church / temple is my soul connectness with the One. Church/Temple is literally EVERYWHERE. Why only route being of Priest, Rabbi etc?

And...yes...I know of Jesus Christ and what He did for us and that we are saved through Him. I very much fully realize that. Yet...still...I speak directly to God, Jesus Christ and really simply...the Pureness of their essence their Love...not a Temple, Church etc. I respect and cherish all persons of all faiths...I just don't understand the concept of alienating persons who don't use holy water or attend a Church, Temple etc. The Love of
Soul and Heart is the " Building " and " Blessed Water " with the One. Seeking enlightment of other answers. Thank you.

Prior to the Council of Nicaea in the fourth century in which the Bible was put together, Christianity was just as you describe, (“My church / temple is my soul connectedness with the One. Church/Temple is literally EVERYWHERE”. When the Apostles asked Jesus, “When is the Kingdom coming”, Jesus replied, “The Kingdom is not coming, the Kingdom is already here. Men don’t see it”. And you, dear “Onelight, know that – good for you !!!
Since the Old Testament was not yet a part of Christianity, Christians believed and practiced that God was Pure Love and Goodness. No fear, no demands, no jealousy, no threats or retaliations, no wrath, no punishments, no anger, no killing, no violence, no wars and so forth. They lived in communities which were as God is – loving each other as God loves us.. Of the single most important cause for the rise in Christianity it was the Peace, Love, and Joy that resulted from their beliefs and practices, and the admiration by others who converted

It was what caused Roman Emporer Constantine to convert to Christianity and outlaw the persecution of them in the fourth century. Constantine then summoned a “Council of Nicaea” in order to unite the various sects of Christians -- Luke Christians, Mark Christians, Matthew Christians and so forth. And to settle once and for all some major differences so that Christianity would become “catholic” (which means “universal”)
Some of the major differences were
Should Christianity be a sect of the Jews? Or should it be its own religion? Should the Old Testament be included in the new Bible? Which gospels should be included and which not? Is a religion a religion without a church or official priests ? or should Christianity continue as religion which focuses on a close personal and spiritual relationship with God? Or centralized and do we need bishops, cardinals and popes as our only hope of communicating with God?
Along comes Ireneus, bishop of Lyons, and to make a long story short, convinces the council that Christianity should be it’s own religion, the Old Testament shall be included ((changing the nature of God from what Jesus preached –LOVE to a God that we should fear, “fear” meaning in the ancient Greek, Aramaic, Hebrew and Latin language “to be afraid of”. (Fear is mentioned over 300 times in the OT) They also decided which gospels should be included and which not. There were thousands to choose from. Only four were chosen because as Iraneus writes, “It is not possible that there can be more or fewer than four” for “just as there are four regions of the universe, and four principal winds, the church itself requires only four gospels

The worst part was yet to come. People who claimed to have a close, personal relationship with God, without the need of those bishops, cardinals and pope were considered to be heretics, blasphemers and witches, and thus began 800 years of the inquisition in which those people were tortured into confessions and burned at the stake.

These were the same people, by the way, that decreed that as a matter of faith women are evil, not qualified to be priests or even to speak in church, must wear burkas to completely cover themselves up so that men don’t get lustful, (which is why women of today must wear something on their head while in church, to indicate submissiveness).

Whenever I am asked, “what religion are you”, I reply that I’m a true Christian, because I don’t believe in Nicaea doctrine, I believe that is unchristian Christ was correct, and I not only believe, but I know for certain (as Christ said) “The Kingdom of God is within you” and that anything He can do we can do too. And dear “Onelight”you know that, too. Good for you !!!!

I don’t need any Rabbi, Imam, or Priest to teach me. Everything one needs to know is deep within one’s soul waiting to be revealed. Simply be still, ask the question, and sooner or later it will be revealed.

I went to old Catholic church, obtained bottle of Holy water and blessed exterior wall of room. In Catholicism, the clergy are not more blessed than anyone else. They have been called by God to a different vocation (or role) than lay single or married people.

Through the sacrament of Holy Orders (Ordination) priests, bishops, and deacons are given the duties and responsibilities that go with their office.

Just like lay people are given a different set of special duties and responsibilities through the sacrament of Marriage.

Catholic bishops ordain by the laying on of hands through an unbroken chain of apostolic succession going back to the original twelve disciples.

There are three levels of Holy Orders, Deacon, Priest, and Bishop.

Bishops are the Apostles of today. Each one leads a diocese. Special types of bishop are archbishop, cardinal, and pope (who leads the whole Church).

Priests are co-workers of the bishops and can lead a parish. A special title for a priest is monsignor. Priests are called presbyters in the Bible.

Deacons assist the bishop and priests in the celebration of the Eucharist, in the distribution of Holy Communion, in assisting at and blessing marriages, in the proclamation of the Gospel and preaching, in presiding over funerals, and in dedicating themselves to the various ministries of charity.

This hierarchy is how Jesus and the Apostles set up the original Christian Church.

With love in Christ.

Being Baptized is scriptural and part of the expected occurrences when you become a Christian.
As far as the rest of your question;
We come to knowledge of God and Jesus Christ through reading HIS word as contained in the Bible.
A person striking out on their own can come up with ideas and thoughts that are counter to the Bible teachings and therefore have nothing to do with the Word of God.

I don't know about priests or popes, but Rabbis are not "special" in the way you imply.. Any learned Jew can perform a wedding, and blessings are considered more powerful if said by large groups, not by certain individuals... A rabbi just has more knowledge of the religion, because they learned more, that's it....

Leave the rabbis out of this! Rabbis are not considered more blessed than anyone else; rabbis are teachers and rabbis do not baptize anyone. I assume when you say "saved", you mean allowed to enter heaven and not have to go to hell. Jews don't accept or believe in the Christian concept of hell. We think it's an incredibly violent and disgusting idea and totally reject it.

You seem to have learned about Judaism from Christians. Rabbis don't have any special "powers." They are teachers and we often go to them for advice, but they are a part of the community just like the rest of us. As a community, we receive comfort and solace from the community in times of stress.

Judaism is more about what one can do for others than "what's in it for me?"

Spiritual leaders devote their lives to the study of their religion, and are more likely to be knowledgable about it. That's really about as far as it goes, though.

People believe you need a spiritual leader to get to God because spiritual leaders tell them so. Personally, I believe they can be a help, but they certainly aren't the only route.

It is simple, because Jesus wished it to be that way. Sometimes humility is the important thing. If God said to do whatever my servant tells you to do and you do not because someone is telling YOU what to do, well then you have a problem with authority and like it says, if you cannot be trusted with little, why would he trust you with BIG.
