There's SO much anger and hatred in this section!

Why is it so difficult for people to accept others for who they are? I haven't seen one question that didn't have at least one nasty answer.

For those of you who believe in God, would your attitude towards others here make him proud?

Why can't people accept others who have different beliefs just as they expect to be accepted for their beliefs?

Where does it get you in life to critisize others like that?

I'm not singling out any one belief. The comment about God was just a comment, that's it.

I was raised a Christian myself Edie.

I think that when you see all the anger, it's nice to find that one/two/three voices who express compassion. Hang in there.

Too much about religion is about making it's followers feel *special*. To do that they have to point out their virtues vs. the other guys foibles. It fosters an US vs. THEM mentality. Most organized religions do this, and it creates a type of intolerance, that supercedes the 'love thy neighbor' message.

Teaching ANY religion to young children, to me, is unfair because young minds are so impressionable. It puts the idea of true 'free will' in serious question.

It is good to criticize people when they deserve to be criticized. Religion has an unfair bias in this country. People, for some reason, are not supposed to criticize it, even though it is blatent superstition. Religion has done much harm in this world, and it is about time that this was pointed out. We can't progress much further while being weighed down with superstitious nonsense.

One of the many unpleasant aspects of religion is that it lends people the belief that their beliefs are incontravertable, becuase they are, they believe, "Divinely Inspired".

Absolute twaddle, of course.

We are lovingly accept them and to lovingly show them the error of their ways to lead them to the Truth of their Salvation!! Accepting their beliefs is cowardice!!

Give me an example.
Was it a christian or a pagan.
Perhaps an atheist. We have all brands here.

Wait a second....it not just us Christian's whom are criticizing others....I have seen many people from other beliefs, including atheists ragging on us too....this is not a one-sided thing, people from every group do it.

Christians are trying to force their morals into American politics and public education. I'm not supposed to be angry about that?
