Look at what we've done to it, if you believe in the teachings of Genesis. We have rendered forms of life extinct through arrogance of superiority, we have destroyed entire ecosystems etc. etc.
Is that what God meant?

Because most people see dominion at stopping at ownership of something. Dominion also has to do with taking care of it, that the point folks fail to see.

It's funny, in a bad way, that a whole lot of people talk about what they will say "When I face the Lord". Most of them don't give two thoughts about what they would say if they were asked "How did you care for the world you were given"

I am a pagan, it is not in my belief that the Divine gave us dominion over the earth. I do however see it as my responsibility to try and clean up the mess we are leaving behind.

the bible circumstances have been agrarian - farm and shepard people. Because we were created in His image....
we lost that dominion thru sin...it was given to Satan...
but restored through our faith in Jesus Christ.
