I agree with Strudders, but I will try to answer anyway.
Get good gear, and prioritize. Make sure you stay hydrated (many packs have a camel insert available) and that you have a strong flashlight, waterproof matches, first aid, pocket knife and a rain poncho. It is a good idea to have an extra t-shirt and socks in waterproof bags. I don't know if you are planning a day hike or over-night, but even for a day hike take some packaged protein (energy bars, nuts, something to refuel). For overnight, you are looking at much more complicated gear, and frankly if you haven't done this before you should probably consider starting small. You can find hiking guide books that tell you local trails. It is also a good idea to have someone with you, preferably someone with more experience. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your hike.

You need to expand your question. What do you mean? Dangers & annoyances? scams? places to stay? places to go? how long to travel for? what type of backpack to use? whether to take any special clothing or equipment? Give us more of a clue and you'll get the answers you want.
