On a 1996 Nissian Altima car where is the starter?

Look in your engine bay to where the transmission bolts to the engine. Then once you find that point, look down on either side of the engine/transmission and you should see something that is sticking out of the transmission parallel to the motor. It should have a power wire going to it and be about 6 to 8 inches long, and about 3-5 inches in diameter.
