Killing vegetation is comparable to killing animals. they're all residing issues. 2d, once you're a vegitarian or would particularly look into the medical ingredient of it, throughout the time of human evolution people have eaten vegetation and animals. Now, on the choice as a society(espically individuals) we consume some distance too lots meat. yet not eating any meat is extra risky. The bible additionally promotes slavery and says that females could placed as much as adult males, do any of you suspect this? I, as a christian, have confidence that there are issues interior the bible that help distinctive human beings, the bible has additionally been replaced by skill of adult males throughout the time of historic previous. some interprit the bible in any different case than others and that's ok. Take from the bible what you're taking from it, in case you interprit this lieterally then this is your determination, I on the different hand % to be healthy. No. Not at all. In the old testament people sacrificed animals to God and He approved. The statement referred to people killing each other! Even if all Christians become vegetarians this will not help because according to science plants are living organisms, therefore all Christians would starve to death!
I hope my answer is good enough!

Hi Jim D, this was recently brought up at a dharma teaching and the Geshe gave an interesting answer.....he said that being vegetarian doesn't make one a buddhist. The rule of thumb is you cannot kill the animal yourself, you cannot pay someone to have the animal killed for you.......he did say that in Tibet they killed the largest animal that could feed the most people.....it's not the best way but it's a lesser dharma challenge. He also said that if you are used to eating meat and would be sick if you stopped then you should eat as it would increase your suffering. There are a lot of angles...best way vegetarian but not the only way.....thanks for reading

Well Bush talks with God, and he is not a "revengeful guy" thats why he did not watch the full video of Saddam Hussein....and since he is not a revengeful guy, thats also why he was able to keep us out of Afghanistan and Iraq and put the 13 billion dollars a month toward education and other domestic programs...but I think Bush eats steak, so I would say its okay to be a Christian, omnivore hypocrite...part of God's plan for us

Thou shalt not kill man, but then you get into the, why are we killing in Iraq question, calvinst say because God said in scripture...because...you are suppose to obey your goverment officials as if you were obeying God, so if they say go to war, then God said it to. God also told the Isaraelites to wipe out everything that was an idol worshipping nation, including the animals. Vegans, are the ones that don't eat an meat killed by humans. Vegitarians, eat veggies.

The Bible says we as humans have dominion over all living creatures. We are not to kill other people because God has a plan for every person's life. He does not have a plan for every animal's life. Sorry.

If you want to get technical, vegetables are alive, too. When you pick them, you kill them. If "Thou Shall Not Kill" means all life, then the only choice we have is to starve to death since everything we eat was alive once except MacDonald's hamburgers.
